Linwood Community Action Plan

Linwood Community Development Trust has announced that it will launch the “Linwood Community Action Plan” on Saturday 16 February 2013 at Linwood Parish Church.

Jeanette Anderson, Chair of the Trust, said “As Chairperson of the Linwood Community Development Trust, I am delighted that we are now able to present the first ever Linwood Community Action Plan to the Linwood community.”

“This plan was produced following extensive community consultations including interviews, public meetings and a community survey which included the views of over 2200 residents of Linwood. This then enabled the Trust to use valuable and personal contributions from hundreds of local residents when compiling a community plan tailored specifically for our town.”

“The Linwood Community Action Plan reflects what the people of Linwood want to see happening in their town and it is hoped that when residents read the contents, they will be inspired to help make Linwood a more attractive, happier and healthier place to live. Together we CAN make a difference! After all, who best knows what our community needs than the community itself?”

The event will give Linwood residents the chance to find out about four exciting new projects which have emerged from the consultations - Linwood in Bloom, Light up Linwood (Christmas Lights), a community football facilities project and ‘HELP’ - Healthy Eating in Linwood Project.

Residents will also be able to find out how they can get involved through various volunteering opportunities that the new projects will provide.

If you want to find out more, pop along on to Linwood Parish Church between 12noon and 3.00pm on Saturday 16 February.
